Volunteer Opportunities


Volunteering your time and skills to help your community can be an exciting and rewarding experience. United Way's Volunteer Center of Salem County can help you find ways to give back to your community by connecting you with ways to volunteer with local nonprofit organizations.

Below is a list of some of the programs that the United Way funds here in Salem County.

  • Parenting classes for at risk parents - Famcare
     

  • Home based therapy & counseling service for parents/guardians of very young children with disabilities -  Shirley Eves
     

  • 1-on-1 guidance for at-risk mothers & early intervention in family preservation-  Robin's Nest
     

  • Hi-Lo reading materials and children's books - Bookmobile
     

  • Large Print and audio books - Bookmobile

  • Home Health Aide Services - Home Care & Hospice of SJ
     

  • Sheltered Workshop - ARC
     

  • Home Delivered Meals - Meals on Wheels

  • Food, rent, utility & other emergency assistance -  Salvation Army

Consumer Credit Counseling Services


As of January 2008 the United Way is proud to announce a new partnership to improve lives here in Salem County. The Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Delaware Valley has opened add a new location here in Salem City at the United Way Office. They will provide services such as debt management, credit report counseling, housing counseling, budget and credit counseling just to name a few.

So go ahead and advocate in a LIVE UNITED world. Do it in public. Be visible. Be loud.

Whether it’s reading to children, or leading financial literacy classes for hard-working families, or delivering meals to homebound seniors, there are hundreds of volunteer options available every day.
